The bookazine looks at the formation of the original Great Central Railway, which in1899 built the last major trunk railway in Britain before the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. The Great Central connected the cities of Manchester, Sheffield and London, with a terminus at Marylebone. It was part of a grand scheme to link late Victorian Britain with the continent..
